Creams Cafe Opening

Hey guys!
Last weekend I had the opportunity to attend a bloggers event at the new branch of Creams Café in Finsbury Park. It was only advertised on Twitter the night before, but fortunately I didn't have any plans until the evening, so I immediately said yes. I mean, who could say no to waffles and ice cream?!
It was a bit short notice but luckily the friend who I had dinner plans with was available to meet earlier. So I left my house and headed to Finsbury Park, where I met up with my friend Jack. We had a little difficulty finding the café, since neither of us had Internet access, but we managed to find it eventually. And when we arrived the waitress didn't seem to know about the event! However, we soon found Hayley, who was sitting at the table behind us with a few other bloggers and non-bloggers.
After getting to know each other, we placed our order. It was difficult choosing what to get as there were so many tempting and mouth-watering options on the menu - including waffles, sundaes, crepes, milkshakes and smoothies. I decided to get 'The Waffle of Oreo Cookies' to share with Jack. The others also got some waffles and crepes, as well as a plate of cookie dough and the humongous 'Birthday Extravaganza'.

When the desserts arrived, I wasn't that surprised at how huge they were. However, it was clear that we would definitely not be able to eat all of it! Nevertheless, I think we did quite well, considering there were only 6 of us, and we managed to sample all of the desserts. I personally loved 'The Waffle of Oreo Cookies' - I made the right choice there! It was a giant round waffle with a scoop of Oreo ice cream in the centre, crumbled Oreos, and white chocolate sauce drizzled all over it. The waffle also came with a side of vanilla ice cream - absolute madness!

Here are images of some of the desserts:

Overall, I really enjoyed the event, despite being very full afterwards! Creams Café is a fantastic place if you have a soft spot for desserts. Not only are the desserts delicious, but the staff are friendly and the décor is fun - I loved all the purple and glitter. I'll definitely be paying Creams Café another visit since there are so many other desserts I need to try - I love the sound of the 'Mango Mania Alfonzo' Sundae, 'Coconut Island' Sundae and  'Melted White Choc Indulgence' Waffle. Of course, I won't be getting quite as much food as I did last Saturday when I next visit Creams Café!
Creams Café has various branches in London and the rest of the UK, including Newcastle, Brighton, Coventry and Cardiff. Most branches are open from 9am to 11pm. I visited the one in Finsbury Park - the address is Unit 7 & 8 Clifton House, Finsbury Park, London, N4 3JU.

Have you ever visited Creams Café? What are your favourite desserts?
Hasta luego!

15 Snacks to Boost Energy and Productivity*

Hey guys!

Hope you're all having a good week! I've just finished my internship at Student & Graduate Publishing, so I'm now looking for journalism courses and jobs! I haven't had much luck so far, but fingers cross I'll get something soon!

So today's post will be all about snacks! It is not only main meals that help fuel your brain - snacks can also make you more alert and increase productivity throughout the day. However, rather than munching on a packet of crisps or a bar of chocolate, which both contain hundreds of calories, it's best to stick to natural foods, such as raw chocolate, fruit and seeds. These all have minimal additional ingredients and are full of iron, protein, magnesium and antioxidants. Thy are perfect for boosting your energy levels, and you'll feel less hungry later in the day. GoToMeeting has come up with a really handy infographic that shows some healthy snack alternatives:

I personally love some of the snacks on this list. Smoothies have become my go-to drink in the mornings, and I try to eat as much fruit as I can - my favourites includes mango, strawberry, raspberry and pineapple. Hummus makes a really tasty dip for sliced veg and crackers - I normally have hummus with carrots, cucumber and tomatoes. Yummy! I don't really eat quinoa or seeds, but I intend to incorporate them more into my diet.

Disclamer: This is a collaborative post. All opinions are my own.

August Goodies

Hey guys!

Today's post will be very short: I will be sharing some treats I got this month.

 1. Lemonhead Candy - I bought this at Summer in the City, there was a candy shop in the main hall (Cyber Candy, to be precise). I also picked up some Birthday Cake M&Ms, but unfortunately I ate them all before I had the chance to take a picture of them!

 2. Soap - I got this soap from Lush and it smells amazing! It's fruity scented :)

 3. All The Bright Places - This book looks quite good so when I saw it at the book swap at Summer in the City, I knew I had to pick it up!

4. Me Before You - Another book I acquired at Summer in the City.

Have you bought anything nice recently? Let me know in the comments! :)

Hasta luego!

June + July Goodies

Hey guys!

Today I will be sharing some treats I bought during the last couple of months!

1. Shoes - I bought these during a sale in New Look several weeks ago.

2. Mr Kipling Cocktail Fancies -  I heard about these and when I found them for only £1.50 I knew I had to buy them. I've tried a couple, and they're all right, but I wouldn't say they're anything special. The fancies just taste like normal ones. Bit of a shame really, as they could be so much better and taste like actual cocktails!

3. Books - I added a lot of books to my shelf during July, and you can read the post about that here

4. Trident Tropical Flavour Chewing Gum - I bought this gum from a sale in a sweet shop in York. They taste delicious but unfortunately the flavour doesn't last very long.

5. Dessert Skittles - I'd been wanting to try these for a while, and I finally gave in when I saw them in a sweet shop for around 75p. As with the Cocktail Fancies, Dessert Skittles aren't amazing.

What treats have you bought for yourself this month? (doesn't have to be food!)

Hasta luego!

5 Things To Do In London This Summer

Hey guys!
We may already be (almost) halfway through the uni summer holiday (what?! How can that be? Some schools haven't even finished yet...) but there are still plenty of things to do in London during the next two months. The city has a whole variety of things on offer this summer, ranging from festivals to beaches (yes, you read that right) to simply lazing in the local park. So grab your friends, family, or even yourself, and be sure do some of the things below:
1. Go to the beach
Don't have enough money / time to jet off to the Caribbean? Well, don't worry - London has come up with the perfect solution: city beaches. Yes, there is such a thing. There are a few dotted around the city, for example in Camden. Here you can lounge on a deckchair or play ping pong, as well as participate in other beach-related activities.
2. Bounce for hours on end

Release your inner child and jump on one of the many trampolines at Oxygen, a trampoline park in Acton. For just £12.50 an hour, this is a great way to keep yourself - or any kids - occupied during the hols. It opens on Monday (that's the 20th) and places are sure to be filled up quickly, so remember to book in advance. Click on the link here to find out more.
3. Go crazy for cereal at Cereal Killer Café

Okay, so £3 may be a bit much for one bowl of cereal, but with the huge range of flavours on offer at Cereal Killer Café, you won't regret it. There are so many different choices at Cereal Killer, including Lucky Charms, Apple Jacks and Estrelitas Mel from Spain. You can even have chocolate or bubble gum milk!

4. Have a picnic

London is well-known for its numerous green spaces, and summer is the perfect time for venturing to one of these for a picnic. Hampstead Heath and Hyde Park are two of my fave locations for having a picnic.
5. Go to a carnival

Notting Hill Carnival is a massive street party that happens in London every year. It always attracts hundreds, if not thousands, of people, and you can taste Caribbean food, watch live bands, and see costumed performers. If you're planning to attend the Notting Hill Carnival, be sure to check out these tips!

Have a great summer and feel free to comment if you're planning on doing any of the things I have mentioned!
Hasta luego!

Eleventh Graze Box: Nibble Box Number 8

Hey guys!

I wasn't actually expecting a Graze Box this week but it was a nice surprise! I thought I'd cancelled my box from this week until I come back to York after the summer holidays, but I'm not complaining!

Here's what I received in my box:

1. Sticky Chocolate Pudding

I received this before, in my chocolate box back in January. It was delicious!

2. Smoky Chipotle Dip

I thought I received this snack before but I can't actually find it anywhere amongst my picture files! It looks tasty though!

3. Strawberries & Cream Granola Topper

I clicked on the 'try' option for this on the Graze website. I absolutely love strawberries and yoghurt-coated fruit! I think I'll have this with some plain yoghurt!

4. Tomato & Basil Pizza

A bit unfortunate that this isn't an actual pizza! It consists of cheese flavoured cashews, basil crunchini and mini tomato breadstick, so I guess it'll taste like a pizza, just without the added thousands of calories!

I'm going to miss getting Graze Boxes over summer!! :( They are so fun and delicious, of course!

Hasta luego!
