Tune Tuesday: Christmas Playlist

Hey guys!

It's now December and you can finally play all the Christmas songs you've been aching to hear listen to all year. I personally love listening to Christmas songs; they are so positive and uplifting. I've listed all my favourite Christmas songs below so that you can add them to your own playlist. I've tried to include a few that you may not have heard of before, as I know how a lot of playlists have the same Christmas songs.

1. All I Want For Christmas Is You - Mariah Carey

This is without a doubt my most favourite Christmas song.  I always have it on repeat throughout December, and in fact I'm listening to it right now. I just love Mariah Carey's voice.

2. Last Christmas - Wham!

This has long been one of my favourite Christmas songs.

3. Last Christmas - Carly Rae Jepsen

I love Carly's take on 'Last Christmas'.

4. Santa Tell Me - Ariana Grande

5. Baby It's Cold Outside - Idina Menzel & Michael Buble

Idina Menzel is just so incredible, and I love Michael Buble too!

6. Sleigh Ride - Fun

7. Do You Hear What I Hear? - Jordin Sparks

8. Warm This Winter - Gabriella Cilmi

9. A Holly Jolly Christmas - Lady Antebellum

I only recently discovered this song but I loved it straightaway!

10. One More Sleep - Leona Lewis

11. Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer - John Denver

This is a childhood favourite!

12. Mistletoe - Justin Bieber

13. Underneath the Tree - Kelly Clarkson

I almost completely forgot about this song! How?!

14. I'll Be Home - Meghan Trainor

Have you started listening to Christmas songs yet? Which ones are your favourites?

Hasta luego!

Tune Tuesday: November Playlist

Hey guys!

Since we're halfway through November, I thought I'd post a playlist for this week's Tune Tuesday. So here are my favourite songs at the moment:

1. Starving - Hailee Steinfeld & Zedd

Okay, yes, I know I included this song in my October Playlist, but I just can't get enough of it! I play it literally every day!

2. Closer - The Chainsmokers & Halsey

Pretty much the same as 'Starving'! I seriously can't stop listening to 'Closer'! It's so catchy and I just love Halsey's voice. I'll admit I wasn't really keen on The Chainsmokers when I first heard about them, but they have definitely grown on me! I love the artists The Chainsmokers have teamed up with this year.

3. One of a Kind - Busted

Ah, Busted, the band I'll always love! So so so glad they're releasing music again!

4. Love Me Now - John Legend

How amazing is John Legend?! He seems like such a nice guy too.

5. All We Know - The Chainsmokers & Phoebe Ryan

I love Phoebe Ryan. She has a really unique and haunting voice. 'All We Know' has been played on repeat this month.

6. Don't Wanna Know - Maroon 5 & Kendrick Lamar

I pretty much love anything by Maroon 5!

7. Famous - Nathan Sykes

Nathan Sykes has such a beautiful voice. I was never really a fan of The Wanted, but he's probably my fave. I love the old-school, soulful vibe to Nathan's voice.

 8. Paramore

Okay, so this isn't exactly a song, but I am loving Paramore at the moment. My fave songs by Paramore include Still Into You, Misery Business and Decode.

What would be on your November playlist? Let me know!

Hasta luego!

Hey guys!

Can you believe it's already November?! Where has this year gone?! I hope you all had a great Halloween - I personally didn't do anything special since I'm more into Christmas and I couldn't really be bothered to organise anything, but I did watch loads of films, including Teen Witch and Life After Beth.

Anyway, today I will be sharing my October Playlist. It's about time I did another monthly playlist, don't you think? I haven't done one since the end of August! There are so many good songs out at the moment, and I've listed some of them below. Enjoy!

1. Million Reasons - Lady Gaga

2. Body Moves - DNCE

3. Starving - Hailee Steinfeld & Zedd

4. Scars to Your Beautiful - Alessia Cara

5. Fake It - Bastille

6. Mercy - Shawn Mendes

7. Closer - The Chainsmokers & Halsey

8. Hurts - Emile Sande

9. Kids - One Republic

10. Take Me Down - The Pretty Reckless

I'm absolutely loving Bastille, DNCE and Shawn Mendes at the moment! Lady Gaga's new songs are great too - they're different to her previous songs, but in a good way! How amazing is Emile Sande's voice?!

What songs are you loving at the moment?

Hasta luego!

Tune Tuesday: Favourite Collaborations

Hey guys!

I don't know about you, but I love it when my favourite singers / bands join together to produce a song. They create tunes so catchy that I will still listen to them several years later! My favourite collaborations, or duets, tend to be in the Pop genre, but I also love a number of RnB, Dance, Musical and Rock collaborations. I won't include any Musical collabs in this post as I wrote about musicals last week. So here are my absolute favourite collaborations:

1. Dilemma - Nelly & Kelly Rowland

I have been in love with this song since forever! It is so catchy and I just can't get enough of it!

2. No Air - Jordin Sparks & Chris Brown

Jordin Sparks is incredible! Where has she been hiding recently?!

3. Love the Way You Lie - Eminem & Rihanna

One of Rihanna's best songs!

4. Empire State of Mind - Jay Z & Alicia Keys

5. American Boy - Estelle & Kanye West

Such an addictive song!

6. Crazy in Love - Beyoncé & Jay Z

This is a classic! Love Beyoncé's earlier songs!

7. Numb / Encore - Linkin Park & Jay Z

8. Hate That I Love You - Rihanna & Ne-Yo

9. Hips Don't Lie - Shakira & Wyclef Jean

Whenever I hear this song I want to get up and dance!

10. Titanium - David Guetta & Sia

I think this was the first time I heard Sia in a song but I didn't really notice her music until 4/5 years later.

11. Beautiful Liar - Beyoncé & Shakira

This was released 7 years ago! :O

12. Lady Marmalade - Christina Aguilera, Lil' Kim, Mya & Pink

Love love LOVE this version of Lady Marmalade!

13. Stuck With Each Other - Shontelle & Akon

14. Can't Hold Us Down - Lil' Kim & Christina Aguilera

17. Price Tag - Jessie J & B.O.B

18. Apologize - OneRepublic & Timbaland

19. Clarity - Zedd & Foxes

Foxes is so underrated!

20. Rather Be - Clean Bandit & Jess Glyne

This is another song that I can listen to over and over again. It was released two years ago, and I have played it at least 100 times since!

21. Irresistible - Demi Lovato & Fall Out Boy

Demi Lovato is one of my favourite singers, and I love Fall Out Boy too! I'm listening to 'Irresistible' while writing this post actually!

22. We Are Young - Fun & Janelle Monae

I'm sure everyone loves this collab!

Of course there are plenty more, but those are all the main ones! What are your favourite collaborations?

Hasta luego!

Tune Tuesday: My Favourite Soundtrack Songs

Hey guys!

As my Tune Tuesday posts tend to be about recent songs, I thought I'd do something a bit different this week. I recently created a Spotify playlist dedicated to my favourite songs from childhood films and musicals, so it seemed like a good idea to share them with you.

1. Defying Gravity (from 'Wicked')
2. Popular (from 'Wicked')
3. My Favourite Things (from 'The Sound Of Music')
4. So Long, Farewell (from 'The Sound Of Music')
5. Sixteen Going On Seventeen (from 'The Sound Of Music')
6. Let It Go (from 'Frozen')
7. Memory (from 'Cats')
8. I See the Light (from 'Tangled')
9. This Is Me (from 'Camp Rock')
10. Greased Lightnin' (from 'Grease')
11. Summer Nights (from 'Grease')
12. We Go Together (from 'Grease')
13. Hopelessly Devoted to You (from 'Grease')
14. Once Upon a December (from 'Anastasia')
15. What Dreams Are Made Of (from 'Lizzie McGuire: The Movie')
16. Part Of Your World (from 'The Little Mermaid')
17. Colors Of the Wind (from 'Pocahontas')
18. A Whole New World (from 'Aladdin')
19. Once Upon a Dream (from 'Sleeping Beauty')
20. Over the Rainbow (from 'The Wizard Of Oz')

Yes, I know I included 'Let It Go'. I loved it at first, and then it got a bit annoying since it was played so much, but I do love Idina Menzel's voice, and Demi Lovato's version is incredible too! I've loved the songs I've included from 'The Sound Of Music', 'Grease', 'The Little Mermaid', ' The Wizard Of Oz', 'Pocahontas' and 'Aladdin' since I was like 5! I can pretty much recite the lyrics to all of these songs, particularly 'Over the Rainbow', 'Once Upon a Dream' and 'Hopelessly Devoted to You'.

Of course, there are so many other songs I could've included on here, such as those from 'The Lion King', 'Beauty and the Beast' and 'Mary Poppins', some of my favourite Disney movies. I definitely need to sit down and rewatch these films and musicals!

What are your favourite songs from musicals and Disney films?

Hasta luego!

Tune Tuesday: Hidden Gems

Hey guys!

I don't know about you, but sometimes I get bored of hearing the same songs played over and over again on the radio. Fortunately, Spotify and YouTube enable me to discover artists and songs I wouldn't listen to otherwise. In this post, I will share some of my favourite songs that you might not have heard of.

1. Make Me A Robot - Tessa Violet

Tessa Violet, a.k.a. Meekakitty, is a YouTube singer from Ashland, Oregon. She started posting videos on YouTube back in 2007 and has shifted from comedy songs (such as Wizard Love) to vlogs to original songs about love and anxiety. Her song 'Make Me A Robot' was released in 2014 and features on her album 'Maybe Trapped Mostly Troubled'. Although it was released two years ago, I first heard this song during Tessa's live performance at Summer in the City this year. When I got home, I instantly found it on Spotify an added it to my saved songs. It's such a beautiful song and Tessa has a really unique voice.

2. Survive - Madilyn Bailey

Madilyn Bailey is another YouTube singer from the US. She released her EP 'Wiser' a month ago and it features some lovely tunes, one of which is called 'Survive'. Madilyn Bailey is super talented and this song just proves it. Her voice is so powerful.

3. Technically Single - Tayler Buono

Tayler Buono also uploads covers of popular songs on YouTube. Her single 'Technically Single' was released last month. I love this song - it's so catchy.

4. Lie A Little Better - Lucy Hale

You may be familiar with Lucy Hale from Pretty Little Liars (she plays Aria), but did you know that she is also a singer? Lucy's debut album 'Road Between' was released in 2014 and it features a range of country songs. 'Lie A Little Better' is one of my most favourite songs on this album. It's upbeat and enjoyable to listen to. I don't tend to listen to country music, but I do like Lucy Hale's songs.

What are some lesser-known songs that you would recommend? Leave your suggestions in the comments :)

Hasta luego!

Tune Tuesday: Summer Playlist 2016

Hey guys!

It's been soooo long since I last posted a Tune Tuesday post! But I've decided to FINALLY return to this feature and share my summer playlist! It's a bit late, considering it's almost the end of August, but oh well!

1. WILD - Troye Sivan and Alessia Cara

Troye Sivan is brilliant! I first discovered him at SitC two years ago when I heard Happy Little Pill.

2. Chasing Shadows - Matt DeFreitas

I heard Matt DeFreitas singing in the open mic room at SitC this year and I immediately went on Youtube to discover more of his covers! Chasing Shadows is an original song by Matt.

3. Heathens - Twenty One Pilots

I recently discovered Twenty One Pilots and I've had this song on repeat ever since!

4. Stressed Out - Twenty One Pilots

Another song I love by Twenty One Pilots (and the first song I heard by them!).

5. Ride - Twenty One Pilots

Can you see a theme running through this playlist?! Btw, you have to check out Alex Aiono's cover - it's amazing!

6. Bury It - CHVRCHES and Hayley Williams

I literally love anything with Hayley Williams, and since CHVRCHES is great too, this is one of my favourite songs I've been listening to this summer.

7. Don't Let Me Down - The Chainsmokers and Daya

So I'm not that keen on the dance element to this song, but it is just so catchy and it's the perfect summer tune! Daya is amazing! And she's only 17!!!!! (I mean, she does look really young but still...)

8. This Is What You Came For - Calvin Harris and Rihanna

Does anyone else think that this doesn't really sound like Rihanna? I was surprised when I found out she was the singer! This is another song I've had on repeat all summer.

9. Treat You Better - Shawn Mendes

Love this song!

10. Back to Church - Alyson Stoner

So catchy! Remember her from Cheaper by the Dozen and Camp Rock?!

11. Snow White - Christina Grimmie

You might remember that Christina Grimmie sadly passed away at her concert a few months ago. I was just starting to discover more of her original songs at the time (I'd previously been listening to her covers). Snow White is probably my favourite song by Christina Grimmie. I also love Shrug, Cliché and Anybody's You.

12. Send My Love (To Your New Lover) - Sam Tsui, Madilyn Bailey, Alex G and Kurt Hugo Schneider

This song was originally by Adele, but I have to be honest, I'm not that keen on it. However, the cover done by Sam Tsui, Madilyn Bailey, Alex G and Kurt Hugo Schneider is just incredible!

13. Wiser - Madilyn Bailey

Madilyn Bailey is one of my favourite Youtubers and her song Wiser features on her debut original songs album.

14. Into You - Ariana Grande

Another catchy song!

What songs would be on your Summer playlist? Let me know in the comments!

Hasta luego!

Tune Tuesday: December Playlist

Hey guys!

Well, as you can see, it's been a while since I last posted. That was totally not supposed to happen. I had so many posts plans but I've been spending so much time on my essays...and they're not even any where near finished. Will never understand how people can write 2000+ word essays in a day or two. Just crazy!

Anyway, with Christmas Day on Friday, I thought I might as well share my playlist for this month today. The songs are a mix of Christmas and non-Christmas ones. Enjoy!

1. All I Want For Christmas - Mariah Carey

This has been my favourite Christmas song since, well, forever. I can listen to it over and over again and still not get bored of it! I know a lot of people like Fairytale of New York, but I seriously can't stand it - I have to cover my ears as soon as I hear it!

2. Last Christmas - Wham!

Second fave Christmas song! I know it's not amazing or anything, but you have to admit it's good to sing along to!

3. The Feeling - Justin Bieber & Halsey

Justin Bieber has really upped his game recently, and this song with Halsey (who is also brill) is no exception.

4. Sorry - Justin Bieber

I listen to this at least once every day. Is it too late to say sorry? (Sorry, I had to) (HA!)

5. Focus - Ariana Grande

I kinda like Ariana Grande's songs...but at the same time, I find her really annoying...but I quite like 'Focus'.

6. Rock Bottom - Hailee Steinfeld

Yes, I know she's two years younger than me. IDC! She has a great voice!

7. Over And Over Again - Nathan Sykes

Amazing!

8. One Call Away - Charlie Puth

Charlie Puth is a new fave <3 p="">

What are your favourite Christmas songs?

Hasta luego!

Tune Tuesday: October Playlist

 Hey guys!

You may have noticed that I haven't done any Tune Tuesday posts for a while (since the beginning of September to be precise - not as long ago as I thought, but still). I have be meaning to, but I keep getting sudden sparks of inspirations for other posts. I finally sat down on Sunday afternoon and drafted this post. I've discovered some great songs recently and thought I'd share them with you.

1. Pyramids - Noonie Bao

Noonie Bao isn't a singer many people are familiar, but her song 'Pyramids' is so catchy!

2. White Houses - Vanessa Carlton

All this time and I've only ever heard ONE song by Vanessa Carlton ('A Thousand Miles' of course)! That is just so crazy! 'White Houses' is another good song by Vanessa Carlton - I don't know why 'A Thousand Miles' is her only well-known song.

3. Sober - Selena Gomez

I don't particularly like Selena Gomez, but her two latest songs ('Sober' and 'Good For You') are quite catchy.

4. Locked Away - R. City & Adam Levine

Anything with Adam Levine is bound to be great, right?

5. Love Myself - Hailee Steinfeld

Love this!

6. WILD - Troye Sivan

Great song!

7. Bad For Me - Megan & Liz

A bit of an old song, but doesn't stop me from liking it!

8. Stole the Show - Kygo & Parson James

Love love love!

9. Better When I'm Dancin' - Meghan Trainor

My favourite song by Meghan Trainor! It's brilliant!

10. On My Mind - Ellie Goulding

Very catchy! She's definitely done something to her lips though, it's kinda annoying. Just leave your lips as they are people!

What songs would be on your playlist for this month? Let me know in the comments!

Hasta luego!

Tune Tuesday: New Songs #4

Hey guys!

In today's Tune Tuesday I will share some of the new songs I've been listening to during the last couple of weeks.

1. Wild - Troye Sivan

Love this! Troye Sivan is so cute!

2. Hair - Little Mix

'Meh' is the right word to describe this song. I'm sure others would disagree.

3. What Do You Mean? - Justin Bieber

I hate the fact that this is so catchy. Grrrrr.

4. Say Love - JoJo

To say I'm excited about JoJo's new song (and album) is a complete understatement. I've always loved her song Leave (Get Out).

5. In Time - FKA Twigs

She's just so odd. Not a fan. (For some reason I can only find live versions)

6. Run Away With Me - Carly Rae Jepsen

So it's not that new, but I've only started listening to it during the last month.

7. Love Myself - Hailee Steinfeld

Can't. Stop. Listening. To. This.

8. Body on Me - Rita Ora ft. Chris Brown

This song isn't anything special, but I do find myself singing along to it sometimes.

Have you heard any of these songs? What do you think of them?

Hasta luego!

Hi guys!

Hope you all had a great bank holiday! I'm back with the second part to my Youtubers You Should Check Out post. As many singers and bands are being discovered through Youtube, I thought I would share some of my favourites, some of whom you may have heard of, others who are completely new.

1. Ollie Sloan

I recently discovered Ollie Sloan through Sweetly Shan's blog. He has a good voice.

2. MAX

I'd be surprised if you haven't heard of MAX - he has so many followers and it's clear why - he's amazing! I love his covers, as well as his original songs (Gibberish is so catchy!).

3. Alex G

Alex G is definitely one of my favourite Youtube singers. Her voice is amazing!

4. Tay Watts

5. Jasmine Thompson

Got this song on replay!

6. Alex Goot

7. Sam Tsui

Another famous one.

8. Ricky Dillon

I love this! So catchy!

What Youtube singers do you like? Have you heard any of the ones I've mentioned?

Tune Tuesday: New Songs #3

Hey guys!

I'm back from Lyme Regis! The weather was appalling most of the time, but luckily the sun decided to come out for a few hours on Saturday and Sunday - so I was able to go to the beach and have a little swim in the sea!

Today's Tune Tuesday will be another post dedicated to some new songs I've been listening to. You can check out previous posts in this series here and here.

1. You Love Me? - Melissa Steel & Wretch 32

I think Melissa Steel has a good voice, but she can honestly do a lot better than this.

2. Omen - Disclosure & Sam Smith

Disclosure and Sam Smith have reunited this summer and produced a new song, Omen. It's all right, but I do prefer Latch.

3. Lemon Eyes - Meg Myers

This is the first song I heard by Meg Myers and I liked it straightaway.

4. Drag Me Down - One Direction

Ok, I admit it: I really like this. It's their first song after Zayn left and it sounds so much more mature than their other stuff. The chorus has been stuck in my head for days!

Have you heard any of these songs? What do you think of them?

Hasta luego!

Tune Tuesday: Youtube Singers You Should Check Out

Hey guys!

If you're looking for some new singers / bands to listen to, why not check out these?

1. Alycia Marie

I love Alycia's covers, especially Lips Are Movin. The video is good too!

2. Ocean Avenue

Their acoustic cover of Where Are U Now is just amazing!

3. The Johnsons

Listen to The Johnsons' covers of Sugar and Rude.

4. Ebony Day

Ebony Day is brilliant! She's on of my favourite British Youtube singers! I hope I get to meet her at Summer in the City on the weekend - that would be amazing! Click here to listen to one of Ebony's original songs.

5. Landon Austin

I love his mashup of Ignition / Stronger / Post To Be.

6. Martha Jane

I came across Martha Jane's Youtube channel by chance, when a video she had posted came up on my newsfeed. I'm so glad I clicked on the link! Her version of Drag Me Down is fantastic! She's a lesser-known Youtuber, but I think she'll go far!

7. Alex Aiono

I discovered Alex on the Youtube show Royal Crush and decided to check out his channel. As well as being insanely good looking, Alex is also a great singer!

8. Daniela Andrade

Her voice is beautiful!

9. Runaground

10. Kimmi Smiles

Best parody!

11. Nick Merico

Great singer!

12. Gardiner Sisters

Gardiner Sisters is a group of sisters who sing (a bit like Cimorelli, I guess). They're so talented and sound great live.

You should also listen to Musical Bethan and Emma Blackery. The Promise is such a beautiful song. Bri Heart and Hannah Trigwell are incredible too!

Hope you enjoyed this post and find some amazing new singers to listen to!

Hasta luego!

Tune Tuesday: New Songs #2

 Hey guys!

Here are my thoughts on some of the songs that have been released recently:

1. Marvin Gaye - Charlie Puth ft. Meghan Trainor

This is brilliant. Both Charlie and Meghan have amazing voices!

2. This Summer's Gonna Hurt - Maroon 5

Maroon 5's new song is ok, but it's not as good as some of their other songs.

3. Don't Be So Hard On Yourself - Jess Glynne

I quite like this :)

4. Around The World - Natalie La Rose

I much prefer Somebody. I guess it's ok to dance to, but I don't think I'll be listening to it otherwise!

5. Body Talk - Foxes

Yay, Foxes have a new song out! :D I love this!

6. Get Stupid - Aston Merrygold

This is Aston's first single since JLS split up and I love it! It's so catchy! Reminds me of Bruno Mars with a bit of Michael Jackson thrown in, not sure if that's just me or...?

7. We Broke The Sky - Alexa Goddard

Amazing! Songs like this should get more recognition! So much better than a lot of the songs in the charts at the moment!

8. Fire N Gold - Bea Miller

She's 16? What?! Reminds me a bit Ellie Goulding and Against the Current. I think Bea will go on to be really successful.

9. Hearts On Fire - Cimorelli

Cimorelli's covers are great, and I like their original songs too. This is a good song and the lyric video is lovely. Can't wait to see the actual video!

What do you think of these songs?

Hasta luego!
