Lyme Regis

Hey guys!

Last week I went to stay with my grandparents in Lyme Regis, a small coastal town in Dorset. Being England, the weather was typically dull and rainy, and I didn't get a lot of sunshine while I was by the sea (probably around six hours total), so I wasn't able to take as many photos as I'd hoped. However, I did take a few and I'll share them anyway.

I bought some things when I went on a day trip to Bridport with my gran and here's a collage of them:

I purchased a couple of notebooks and a mechanical pen from a gift shop (not that I need any more stationery!). I love the designs on the notebooks - they're so pretty! You'll be shocked at how much (or rather, how little) I bought them for! I also had a wander around the charity shops while I was in Bridport and I picked up a slightly old copy of The Language of Flowers in the Cancer Research shop. Don't you just love the cover?!

I also bought some fudge while I was in Lyme Regis because you can't go on holiday in England and not buy fudge!

Onto the pics I took at the Folk Festival...

Such interesting and unusual costumes!

Paella! (took with my phone so quality isn't as good as the previous photos)

Yummy! (also taken with my phone)

And around the beach...

The Cobb

Sun!

I love beach huts!

Beautiful sunset!

Have you ever been to Lyme Regis (or Bridport)? Where did you go on holiday this summer?
Hasta luego!

August Goodies

Hey guys!

Today's post will be very short: I will be sharing some treats I got this month.

 1. Lemonhead Candy - I bought this at Summer in the City, there was a candy shop in the main hall (Cyber Candy, to be precise). I also picked up some Birthday Cake M&Ms, but unfortunately I ate them all before I had the chance to take a picture of them!

 2. Soap - I got this soap from Lush and it smells amazing! It's fruity scented :)

 3. All The Bright Places - This book looks quite good so when I saw it at the book swap at Summer in the City, I knew I had to pick it up!

4. Me Before You - Another book I acquired at Summer in the City.

Have you bought anything nice recently? Let me know in the comments! :)

Hasta luego!

Tune Tuesday: New Songs #3

Hey guys!

I'm back from Lyme Regis! The weather was appalling most of the time, but luckily the sun decided to come out for a few hours on Saturday and Sunday - so I was able to go to the beach and have a little swim in the sea!

Today's Tune Tuesday will be another post dedicated to some new songs I've been listening to. You can check out previous posts in this series here and here.

1. You Love Me? - Melissa Steel & Wretch 32

I think Melissa Steel has a good voice, but she can honestly do a lot better than this.

2. Omen - Disclosure & Sam Smith

Disclosure and Sam Smith have reunited this summer and produced a new song, Omen. It's all right, but I do prefer Latch.

3. Lemon Eyes - Meg Myers

This is the first song I heard by Meg Myers and I liked it straightaway.

4. Drag Me Down - One Direction

Ok, I admit it: I really like this. It's their first song after Zayn left and it sounds so much more mature than their other stuff. The chorus has been stuck in my head for days!

Have you heard any of these songs? What do you think of them?

Hasta luego!

Throwback Thursday: Summer in the City

Hey guys!

With Summer in the City coming up on the weekend, I though today would be the perfect opportunity to do a throwback to last year's event. Summer in the City is basically the largest Youtube event in the UK. It has been held in London every year since 2009, and it's a great way to meet your favourite Youtubers, generate more traffic to your own channel, and make new friends. I was fortunate to attend the amazing event last year, and I'll be returning this year as a volunteer. I can't wait to see some of my friends again and meet loads of new people (including Carrie Hope Fletcher and Elyar Fox!!!! I also hope to meet Hannah WittonHannah Trigwell and Ebony Day at some point during the weekend.).

Last year I was lucky enough to meet a whole bunch of Youtubers. As well as meeting a few I'd never even heard of before, I also met Dodie Clark (she's so lovely), LucyLancifer (my friends and I went to dinner at Nando's the week after and he came along!!), Harrison Webb and Tessa Violet. I don't think Lancifer, Harrison or Tessa will be at SitC this year so I'm glad I met them last year!

Here are a few of my fave photos from the event last year:

I need to catch up with their videos!

Yeah, I didn't really take many photos last year...both my phone and camera were playing up. Hope that doesn't happen again this year!

Have you gone to Summer in the City? Are you going this year? Let me know in the comments!

Hasta luego!

Stages of watching the PLL Final

Hey guys!

If you're a fan of PLL (Pretty Little Liars), you would know that the final episode of Season 6 was shown last night. Unfortunately, being in England, I had to wait a while before watching it. I did plan to stay up and watch it initially, but I was so tired last night! I watched it first thing in the morning instead since I couldn't wait any longer! There was so much build up to this episode - the true identity of 'A' / 'Charles' is basically what the whole show is about.

I thought that I'd share my thoughts while watching this episode, accompanied by GIFs.

*Spoiler alert* Look away now if you haven't seen this episode!!!

1. *scrolling through Facebook after waking up* Sees that people have already revealed who Charles is

2. *turns Netflix on and waits for the episode to load*

3. Netflix isn't working. No, no, NOOOOO!!!

Of course throwing my laptop across the room would mean not being able to watch it at all! Probably not the best idea!

4. *turns off computer and restarts Netflix* YES IT'S WORKING. THANK GOD!!!

5. *When the girls go into some weird futuristic room* What is this place?!

6. Hannah says "did we just walk inside A's brain?"

7. When Charles is about to turn around

I already knew who it was (THANKS FACEBOOK -.-) but it was still an intense moment! And I was kinda hoping that it was actually someone else!!

8. Finding out that CeCe really is Charles & A

and

I mean, it makes total sense. CeCe looks a bit like Ali, and she knows so much about Aria, Emily, Hannah and Spencer...Plus CeCe's surname is Drake, meaning she has the same initials as Charles DiLaurentis. But all the timings don't really add up, so it just annoys me a bit! And it's so messed up that CeCe was flirting with Jason, HER OWN BROTHER!

 9. Finding out Sara is Red Coat AND Black Widow

Like, WHY?! I was really hoping it would be Melissa, or Jenna.

10. When Emily hits Sara

That was brilliant!

11. CeCe is about to jump off the roof

A may be horrible, but the flashbacks in this episode really made me feel sorry for her.

12. The time jump and realising someone else might be after Ali

13. When the episode finished

and

Overall, I thought the final of Season 6 was really good. It was so emotional and I could feel my heart racing at times! But what happened to the mums?! And who really killed Mrs DiLaurentis? What did you think of the last episode of PLL? Were you disappointed when A and Red Coat were revealed? Do you think that CeCe and Sara are actually working for someone else and that's who is after Ali in the time jump?  Could that also be the person who killed Mrs D?! I'd love to hear your thoughts!

Hasta luego!

What I've Been Watching In July

Hey guys!

I've finally finished my post on what I watched in July! It's a bit later than anticipated, but here it is!

1. Insurgent

Just over a week ago I finally sat down and watched Insurgent. I had been planning to watch it at the student cinema months ago, but unfortunately it was showing the night before my final exam. I did want to watch Insurgent when it first came out but seeing it on campus would save over £5. Why are cinema tickets so expensive?!

Anyway, for those of you who don't already know, Insurgent is the second instalment in the Divergent series. It stars Shailene Woodley (The Secret Life of the American Teenager and The Fault in Our Stars) as Tris Prior, a teenager who lives in futuristic Chicago. Insurgent picks up from where Divergent lift off, and follows Tris as she searches for allies and answers, with the help of her boyfriend Four (Theo James). They are on the run from Jeanine (Kate Winslet), the leader of the faction Erudite. Together, Tris and Four try to figure out why Jeanine is so interested in them.

Insurgent is a fantastic film. It's action-packed, with some amazing effects. While you would need to watch the first film in order to understand what's going on, Insurgent is nevertheless an enjoyable film. The casting is great - Shailene portrays her character's inner struggle really well, while Theo James, Mils Teller, Ansel Elgort and Kate Winslet are good too. It may not be everyone's cup of tea, but Insurgent is worth watching, if just for the cast.

2. Paper Towns

You can read my review for this film here. I went to a preview screening last weekend, but it will be out in cinemas in the UK on 17th August.

3. Belle

This was a lovely film. Gugu Mbatha-Raw is fantastic as the protagonist, Dido. The costumes are beautiful too.

4. 500 Days of Summer

I've wanted to see 500 Days of Summer for ages. I don't know why I didn't watch it sooner. However, I finally got round to seeing it a few weeks ago. Zooey Deschanel and Joseph Gordon-Levitt are truly amazing - they're two of my favourite actors. I would have to say that 500 Days of Summer wasn't as brilliant as I expected - the story is good, and the acting is great, but I did think that the plot was a bit confusing at times.

5. Pretty Little Liars

PLL is my favourite TV show at the moment. I absolutely love it! The outfits are lovely and the cast is perfect! I can't wait to see the finale of Season 6! Hurry up and show who is under the mask!!! (yep, I'm one of the unfortunate people in Europe who has to wait hours before watching each episode on Netflix)

What shows and films have you watched lately? Do you watch PLL? Who do you think Charles is (probably already revealed by now - ha, as if!)?

Hasta luego!

Tune Tuesday: Youtube Singers You Should Check Out

Hey guys!

If you're looking for some new singers / bands to listen to, why not check out these?

1. Alycia Marie

I love Alycia's covers, especially Lips Are Movin. The video is good too!

2. Ocean Avenue

Their acoustic cover of Where Are U Now is just amazing!

3. The Johnsons

Listen to The Johnsons' covers of Sugar and Rude.

4. Ebony Day

Ebony Day is brilliant! She's on of my favourite British Youtube singers! I hope I get to meet her at Summer in the City on the weekend - that would be amazing! Click here to listen to one of Ebony's original songs.

5. Landon Austin

I love his mashup of Ignition / Stronger / Post To Be.

6. Martha Jane

I came across Martha Jane's Youtube channel by chance, when a video she had posted came up on my newsfeed. I'm so glad I clicked on the link! Her version of Drag Me Down is fantastic! She's a lesser-known Youtuber, but I think she'll go far!

7. Alex Aiono

I discovered Alex on the Youtube show Royal Crush and decided to check out his channel. As well as being insanely good looking, Alex is also a great singer!

8. Daniela Andrade

Her voice is beautiful!

9. Runaground

10. Kimmi Smiles

Best parody!

11. Nick Merico

Great singer!

12. Gardiner Sisters

Gardiner Sisters is a group of sisters who sing (a bit like Cimorelli, I guess). They're so talented and sound great live.

You should also listen to Musical Bethan and Emma Blackery. The Promise is such a beautiful song. Bri Heart and Hannah Trigwell are incredible too!

Hope you enjoyed this post and find some amazing new singers to listen to!
